Amputations Under Missouri & Illinois Workers Comp

The loss of an arm, leg or even part of a finger is a devastating injury.  From extensive physical and occupational therapy during the to long lasting phantom pain where the body part once existed, the recovery process from amputations is long and painful.

In Missouri & Illinois, there is a schedule of injuries that is used to determine the value of compensation that you are eligible to receive.

Under Illinois law, for more recent injuries, some of the scheduled losses are:
  • 190 weeks for the Hand;
  • 253 weeks for the Arm; and,
  • 242 weeks for the Leg when amputated above knee.
These injuries, like hand and finger injuries, result in scarring and disfigurement that will result in additional compensation for your work related injury.
