Some of the major roads that drivers use in these communities are:

Route 19 runs from New London to Highway 63 in Thayer.  It connects with Interstate 70 at New Florence, which is also the exit to take Highway 19 to Hermann, home of Missouri wine country.

Route 21 (Tesson Ferry in St. Louis) runs from Affton to Arkansas.  Prior to major revisions in recent years, it was referred to as “Blood Alley” due to the numerous auto accidents on it.  Route 21 is major route in Jefferson County, Missouri.

Route 30 (Gravois Ave/ Rd in St. Louis) runs from Interstate 55 to Interstate 44.  Certain parts of the highway are considered part of Route 66. 

Route 47 -  This state road travels through Troy and Hawk Point where it bypasses Interstate 70 at the Warrenton exit.  From there, Route 47 goes south to Highway 94 and into Washington at Route 100.  At Union, Route 47/ Highway 50 continue to St. Clair at Interstate 44 toward Bonne Terre where it ends at US Route 67.

US40/64 - From the Poplar Street Bridge, these are actually two separate highways that merge through St. Louis.  Most locals refer to the stretch of road through St. Louis as Highway 40.  At Interstate 70 near Wentzville, Highway 64/61 continues north to Hannibal.

US 61 - At St. Louis, this highway runs concurrent with US 40 and US 61 until Wentzville where it turns north toward US Route 54 annd 36 and Interstate 72’s end at Hannibal.  

Interstate 44- This interstate travels northeast through Missouri from Oklahoma to Illinois.  It replaced Route 66 through Missouri.

Interstate 70- This interstate is a major highway extending the length of the United States.  

Interstate 270 - This is a bypass highway around St. Louis from Interstate 55 to Interstate 70 in Illinois.  270 intersects with major thoroughfares in St. Louis, including Manchester Road (State Road 100), Olive Blvd in Creve Coeur, Dorsett Road, Page Extension in Maryland Heights and the Inner-belt.

Interstate 170 - Referred to as the inner-belt, this highway travels from north St. Louis at Interstate 270 to Mid County at Interstate 64 (highway 40).
